Here in Rotherham we have long held the conceit that compared to other towns and cities in South Yorkshire, we are of course, the best. For this reason the other towns and cities are
generally referred to as t'villages up t'road, especially Sheffield. In fact most particularly Sheffield. Rotherham has never forgotten the days when it was a town when Sheffield was
still a collection of mud huts along the River Sheaf. Since that was more than a few hundred years ago, you can see that folk around here have long, long memories.
