Tickhill Village
Address:- Tickhill, Doncaster.Tickhill used to be another regular haunt, but it is a place I have not been for years. In the pre-development days it used to be a very nice village strung out around the crossroads with any number of welcoming old hostelries.
St Mary's Tickhill

Tickhill Buttercross

In those days the castle was derelict and inaccessible to anybody but the local youth. It has since been done up but I have not been to see. I understand that it is owned by the Duchy of Lancaster and is still undergoing repairs but is in any case rented to a private tenant and cannot be visited except on open days.
