How to get to Rotherham by Air

Doncaster Sheffield (Robin Hood) Airport is the most convenient. I haven't found a connecting bus service to Rotherham but the SYPTE number above might be able to help. East Midlands (Nottingham Derby) Airport is less than an hour south on the M1 and the last time I looked there was a bus service connecting to Meadowhall and Sheffield. Leeds Bradford Airport is a similar distance away north but getting to and from the place can be a nightmare if you hit the Leeds rush hours. The nearest International Airport is at Manchester but between the horrendous traffic and the usual roadworks we avoid using it unless the flights are early morning or evening. Bus and rail services to Sheffield.

How to get to Rotherham by Rail

The main line stations are at Doncaster and Sheffield but there are frequent connections to Rotherham. The Yunga Bruvva has used both but generally finds that the best deals are on the line to Sheffield. National Rail Enquiries Tel. 0845 7484950.

How to get to Rotherham by Road

Rotherham is just off Junctions 31/32/33/34/35 of the M1 (depends on which bit you want) or Junction 1 of the M18. For bus services contact South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive Tel. 01709 515151 or visits the website www.sypte.co.uk.

How to get to Rotherham by Sea

The nearest ferry port is at Hull about 60 miles away with an excellent motorway connection. Don't know about the buses or trains from there.

Then, of course, there is Shank's Pony!
