There are dozens of books about the town of Rotherham and other areas in the borough. These range from massive tomes to thin leaflets and cover subjects from the commonplace to the utterly arcane. I never realised that so much time, effort and ink could be expended about one small place. Here are some that I have read and used - there are many, many more! I will try and get an up to date list.
These are the ones I've noticed in 2009.
Some of these books are no longer in print but are available from Rotherham Library.

From mid - 2004 Rotherham Library now has an online search facility for books available to borrow which you can access via the Rotherham Online website front page.
The Rotherwood Press publishes many books about Rotherham which might not otherwise get beyond the manuscript stage. I believe that it is a Rotherham Libraries venture and you should contact the library if you have something you thing the world ought to share.
There are a number of small publishing companies in Rotherham but I know nothing about them or the type of material they publish.
