Nowadays there is a vast amount of information about the town and borough of Rotherham out there in the ether. The categories in this section are merely those that do not seem to fit readily into any other parts of the website.
It was not always so. Many, many years ago, more than a decade in fact, when I was studying various courses at RCAT, I turned to the internet to gather information for projects about Rotherham that I was undertaking. At that time, when it came to the internet, Rotherham was still in the Stone Age. There were very few websites based in or about Rotherham except Rotherham Online which is the council's website. This was available but utterly impenetrable in parts, with the Microsoft penchant for innumerable clicks that direct you up the proverbial gum tree. Several rebuilds later the RMBC site is rather better, but has a horrible habit of changing page urls or information without redirecting you to the whereabouts of new stuff.
The general lack of information was the reason I set up Rotherham The Unofficial Website all those years ago using information I had gleaned by other methods than the World Wide Web.
