Rotherham Charities
It has often been said that the poorer the people, the more that they give to charity. I don't know if this is true of Rotherham, money wise anyhow. There are many, many charities operating in the Borough of Rotherham. Hardly a week passes without one or two charity collection bags through my mother's door. I've had a good look at some of these and 'charity' is hardly the word to describe most of them.
There are loads of charity shops in the centre of Rotherham and even more in other places. Most of these are run by the big country-wide charities and I am not going to look at them here. Besides the shops, many of the major charities also run some kind of operation on Rotherham. However I am only going to look at some of the charities based in or pertinent to the town and borough of Rotherham.
