Rotherham Advertiser
O2 Yorkshire and Humber Newspaper of the Year 2011
In 1858 Ann Hinchcliffe and Henry Hepworth began the regular publication the Rotherham and Masbrough Advertiser. The Rotherham Advertiser is still published today along with its cohorts the Rotherham Record and the Dearne Valley Weekender The newspapers are owned by the Garnett Dickinson Publishing group.

After a hundred and fifty three years in the newspaper business the Rotherham Advertiser is still a very worthy member of the Fourth Estate. It publishes news and views about the borough or Rotherham and a few areas beyond and maintains an independent voice.
In July 2011 the Rotherham Advertiser has been named Newspaper of the Year in the O2 Yorkshire and Humber Media Awards. The paper was also crowned O2 Weekly Newspaper of the Year. It beat the Yorkshire Evening Post, which won the title of Daily Newspaper of the Year, for the overall title of best newspaper.
