Wath Hall
Wath Hall was built about 1770 to replace the previous Mediaeval manor called Flemings Manor House. In 1833 it was the home of Dr William Kay. By 1849, it housed James Barton's Boarding School. The last private occupant was Frederick Johnson. In 1891 it was sold to Wath UDC for £2500 and became Wath Town Hall in 1909.
Wath Hall
I understand that Wath council offices are moving out in 2006/7 but I am as yet unsure what is happening to the hall. Fay who works in Wath Hall has been in touch to say that the jobs are staying in the Hall but there will be no public access or enquiries there.
