A National Lottery application is currently in the course of development for major refurbishment work at Herringthorpe Leisure Centre and Playing Fields. If successful, this will
extend facilities to include a 33-metre swimming pool, an indoor bowling centre and expanded fitness suite.
Herringthorpe Stadium
Tel. 01709 828850. The stadium in the grounds of the leisure centre has a floodlit running track and is open to both individual and club users. The track is home to Rotherham Harriers
and Athletic Club, one of the region's leading clubs.
Herringthorpe Playing Fields
Tel. 01709 379858. The playing fields at Herringthorpe have an artificial all-weather pitch, fifteen football, rugby and hockey pitches in winter and four cricket pitches in summer.
