Doorstep Rides
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council are developing a series of doorstep rides suitable for horse riders or bicycle riders to compliment their Doorstep Walks. They are indicated by bright yellow waymarks.
Doorstep Ride 1 - The Rother Valley Park Ride
This is a 5 mile ride around Rother Valley Country Park using mostly off road tracks. Bikes can be hired at Rother Valley Country Park. For horses there is an off road box and trailer parking area just before the bridge at the Visitor Centre - key available from the visitor centre or cycle hire centre (small deposit).
Doorstep Ride 2 - The Poolsbrook Trans Pennine Trail at Rother Valley Country Park
This is a ten mile ride from Rother Valley Country Park to Poolsbrook Country Park in Derbyshire using part of the Trans Pennine Trail. The ride is entirely off road along part of the old Great Central Railway Line. You have to go back the way you came.
