sports Sport is a serious business for many in Rotherham. People around here, no I'll rephrase that, men around here take their sport pretty damned seriously indeed. Most kinds of sport you follow or practise you can find it in the Rotherham area. Of course there is no official Motor Racing or Motor Cycle Racing Track in the borough but there are many estates where you can watch the unofficial races on a Saturday night. You need no qualifications to take part except for a certain reckless disregard of the law.

You will have to go to Doncaster for the horse racing or Sheffield if you want to go to the dogs.

Northern Sports Academy (NSA)

They run multi sport coaching programmes at various Rotherham Schools in the school holidays. These are for for children 5 - 16 years, activities start at 10am and end at 3pm, activities are free of charge and places are limited. Tel. 0114 2811237 for more details.
