Recreation in Rotherham

Whatever else can be said about Rotherham, it cannot be denied that it is a town where there is plenty to do if you look around. It is also a town where many people sit on their butts and spend half their time complaining there is nothing to do because they can't be bothered to look around, but I suppose that this is a form of recreation in itself.

I have classed a variety of pastimes under the general heading 'Leisure' because I definitely could not classify them as 'Sport'. Please visit Leisure to have a look at these, and you will notice if you look carefully, that there is really very little leisure involved in some of these activities.

Even though many public houses have closed down within the last decade or so Rotherham both the town and the borough, have plenty of alehouses. You can find out more information at Pubs, Clubs & Restaurants, where there are also details about the Working Men's Clubs, the Night Clubs and Discos, and the Restaurants.

Sport is a very serious matter to most of the men in Rotherham and a large percentage of the women too. Visit Sport for a look at the sporting activities on offer in the borough.

The town and borough of Rotherham has some very good paths and trails, but is what is walking? Is it sport? Only very rarely! Is it leisure? Not in my book! Is it entertainment? Not usually though it has been known! However you can find the Walking pages in Recreation in Rotherham as it seemed the most appropriate place for it.
