My last meal was so dreadful that it has been several years since I last ate here. I was informed in the summer that new people were running it so we thought we'd give it another try. Except for the faces nothing seems to have changed: not even a coat of paint. Knowing that it is usually busy I took the trouble of phoning up the night before and booking a table. When we got there there was no trace of the booking so in speaking English, I obviously don't speak the right language.
There were some interesting-looking items on the Christmas and New Years menu's but we stuck to the old favourites so I can't really comment. The cheesy garlic bread for starters was excellent. The calzone was acceptable although the crust was very thick. I had canneloni, which consisted of two tubes of pasta, an ounce or so of cooked mince topped with the stock tomato and cheese sauces. If I'd paid full price for it I would not have been a happy bunny as it is around £8. I can cook this dish much, much better myself.
