Public House Restaurants
Lots and lots of pubs in Rotherham do food: these are ones that I have seen advertised recently. I'll warn you now that getting a pub meal in some of the pubs can be an arbitrary business. I'll quote the following conversations:-
"Can we order food please."
"We're not doing food today."
"But it's Tuesday. Your adverts say you do food on Tuesday and the board up in front says so too."
"So what! We're not doing food today. What do you what to drink?"
"Nowt."
Exit pub stage left.
Or:-
"Can we order food please."
"Food's off."
"But it say outside you do food every day."
"Cook's gone home. Food's off."
Or after waiting to be served for over 20 minutes at the bar.
"Can we order food please."
"You can but the kitchen's busy because we're doing a funeral. Be over an hour. You can't sit in this bar you'll have to move, funeral's being held in here."
We did move: right out of the pub.
