Country Parks

Various areas in the borough of Rotherham - former reservoirs and in the case of Rother Valley on open cast site or Wath an old pit site have been turned into playgrounds for the townies and havens for wildlife. You can visit them here.

I have a plan which shows on which is written very clearly 'Wath Country Park' across the top. However it does not seem to appear on the lists of Country Parks from Rotherham Council. Parts of the park or at least the development area are to be, um, developed as shops and housing. The last I heard the plan for a cinema was ditched as Doncaster and Barnsley Councils minged a great deal as they thought their own cinemas would lose trade.
