Wonderful Wildlife Events

Interested in improving your wildlife ID Skills? The Wildlife Trust for Sheffield and Rotherham are running a series of monthly wonderful wildlife events for 65+. Join us for a leisurely morning of practical conservation activities helping to conserve Centenary's valuable meadow, riverside and pond habitats. Follow a wildlife ID session with our wildlife experts and Rotherham & District Ornithological Society. Sessions will include butterfly, bird, and wildflower ID sessions as well as looking at the fascinating industrial heritage of the site. We'll provide tools, refreshments and PPE. Rotherham Round Walk
Starts 9am Rotherham Town Centre. Rotherham Rotary Club has joined forces with Rush to Walk for this 33rd staging of the Rotherham Roundwalk. Four Walking Routes in aid of Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and other local charities including those supported by RRC Benevolent Fund. Walk distances of 3, 7, and 12 miles will take place over part of the famous Rotherham Roundwalk route plus the full 25 mile circuit from All Saints' Square over which the Rotary Club has staged a walk for the past thirty years. "Rush to Walk" was founded by Gillian Headon and Lyn Wilson (bosom buddies) in memory of Sandra Rush who died of breast cancer in 2002. It has previously held walks in the Dinnington area mainly in aid of the Bluebell Wood charity, to which half the proceeds will go. The rest will be divided between other local charities including those supported this year by the Rotary Club of Rotherham Benevolent Fund: Headway Rotherham, Rotherham Hospice, Shiloh, YMCA White Rose and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
