The Rogues' Gallery

Now I know that Rotherham has its fair share or rogues and colourful characters but I have been very hard put to find any photographs of them. I guess most of them were a little bit shy. The Rogues' Gallery is a presentation which is best viewed in full screen. You can view the photos individually if you wish.

Joyce from Canada has been in touch:–

"As an ex-Rotherham, now living in Canada, I like to view the unofficial Rotherham Website. Recently, I came across The Rogues Gallery and feel sure I know the name of one of the musicians in the centre of the photo. I believe it is my grandfather Walter Coates, who died 1916, fourteen years before I was born. I know that he used to play and write the music for the handbells at the Parish Church when,my mother was a little girl( 1900 - 2004 Rose Ivy Coates). My grandmother's maiden name Strong, sadly he passed away in 2005. When I showed the picture to my grown up sons, they thought that the man in the centre of the photo looked like Uncle Keith."
