Professional Theatre

theatres image masksI know very little about either of these theatre groups but I am making the assumption on the information that I have that these are professional companies. I am not at all sure that they spend much time actually performing in theatres as their mission statements, remits or whatever you wish to call them seem to be more in the field of social comment than entertainment. You can call me old fashioned but I don't actually like to be preached at - I like to be entertained!

Far Out Theatre
I may be jumping to conclusions here, and it is something I'm very good at, but Far Out Theatre appear to be a professional company working with various groups in the Rotherham area.

Drama Workshops, Tuesdays 7 - 9pm.

Far Out Theatre produce a pantomime with a difference, written and performed by members of the community. They always try to stage a less-performed story, such as Red Riding Hood, The Pied Piper of Hamelin and this year (2007) they'll be doing Treasure Island.
