Clifton Park Museum
aka Rotherham Museum

Clifton Park Museum is housed in Clifton House in Clifton Park, about ½ mile from the town centre. It is often called Rotherham Museum since it contain a wealth of detail about the town and borough of Rotherham. It was closed between Christmas 2002 and 29 January 2005 for a massive refurbishment programme. Since re-opening it has won awards from the awards fraternity and, more importantly, commendations from the non-paying public.

  • Induction loops in reception areas.
  • The Granary café with terrace overlooking the garden open in summer. Café reopened January 2008. Called in here Sunday 25 April 2010 and ordered a tea and a scone. When the tea came she had put two cups on the tray and possibly a pot for two. I returned the extra cups back, paid, drank my tea, ate my scone and went home. Checking my change I then found that she had charged me for the two cups of tea I did not order. I know I was silly and should have checked my change whilst I was there but really, I did not expect to be fleeced in a place like this. Shows you just how wrong you can be.
