Rotherham Arts Council
Rotherham Arts is a charitable organisation. It was founded to encourage
arts within the Borough of Rotherham. The definition of 'Arts' is very wide and
includes the usual suspects - artists, writers, dancers and musicians, as well as some rarer
specimens like bird watchers and flower arrangers. Looks as if this lot know their arts from
their elbow! (Sorry couldn't resist.)
Rotherham Arts:-
- Has more than 70 member societies as well as individuals. Any individual or organisation with an involvement in the Arts can apply to join.
- Is involved in making grants for local arts schemes, aiding projects and putting forward innovative schemes. In this latter capacity it has been involved in the development and organisation of Rotherham Arts Festival. For more information about the Arts Festival visit onsite at Culture in Rotherham >> Information about the Arts >> Rotherham Arts Festival.
- It puts forward the views of its members to the Borough Council and other official bodies concerning matters that affect them.
