List of Artists
Chris Bird
Based in his studio in the Old Building Yard, Wentworth, Chris has built up a strong following both of art lovers and collectors alike. Working with traditional media his paintings have featured in numerous exhibitions and competitions and many now adorn the walls of homes, offices and boardrooms throughout the world.
Never happier than with a brush in his hand and portraying his native South Yorkshire, be it a gritty industrial townscape, tow path, redundant mine or tranquil summer meadow, Chris's work displays an honesty that can only be produced by someone at one with their subject.
Recently a series of Chris' pencil drawings were used to successfully illustrate the children's book, 'Bertie the Colonel's Flag'. Christmas 2009 saw the start of a series of imaginary landscapes that came about almost by accident with a few flicks of a brush and an imagination left to run wild. Each painting in this series taking you one step further into a new world of fantasy. Other work in progress: working farm machinery, how it appears and disappears through its working days.
The gallery is open every weekend 10.30am - 4.30pm.
