Closed Guestbook 14 of Rotherham The Unofficial Website

fourteenThese entries in Rotherham The Unofficial Website's Guestbook were made during 2009. Please note that I have replaced '@' in the email addresses with 'at'. If you wish toContact anybody here please remember to change it back.

Any eccentricities of spelling or grammar belong to the emailer. All right I have plenty of my own but I'm not responsible for these.

These are the printable comments left in my Guestbook in up to May 2009. So why the change of Guestbook? Well I have hosted part of my site including my Guestbook at Geocities since 2001 when I first uploaded Rotherham The Unofficial Website and let it loose on the world. Geocities are closing some time in 2009 (no money to be made from the free sites there!) so I've found another Guestbook. Actually I've tried several but either I couldn't get then to work or if I could my current web host did not like them.

Comment: From what I've read in the Advertiser and from talking to shop owners, friends etc., nobody seems happy with the local council or what they've done and are doing to this town. I could go on for hours about their disregard for Rotherham's history & the fact they seem to like building on all the central car parks. Even the entry in Wikipedia wouldn't encourage the local shopper. I'd like to understand why they are always voted back in! Great site! Nov 16, 2009.

I moved to North Yorks (Filey) 2 years ago for retirement and my heart is still in old Rotherham but not Rotherham today! The Councillors wnat hanging out to dry for what they have allowed to happen - s'pose its all the back handers! what a shower of uneducated crooks they all are. Oct 14, 2009

Comment: Great town, people & memories. Being born in 1944 and growing up and working in town I remember it being a pretty buzzing place. I had the nickname Vic during the sixties and loads of friends in town, now there seems no one I can remember still in Rotherham. If anyone remembers me I'd love to hear from them especially, John Lawton,Jean Marshall, Twill, John Muscroft,Michael Walker in fact anyone from Thornhill School, Park Street, and the Tech and art school' Roger (Vic) Lindley.
