Wickersley Shopping
Wickersley has a wide selection of independent shops that sell specialist goods. As far as I can remember there are none of the big 'chain' names. The shopping area is spread out along Bawtry Road (very busy and difficult to cross) with main area at the Tanyard and the new Hastings Court. There is free parking but this is often very busy. There is an underpass: I recommend you use it.
The Tanyard was developed in 1966 ago with a free parking area in front and has always been home to a nice range of shops. There are I think three banks/building societies here. The Hastings Furniture Store and adjacent garage were demolished a few years ago and the new development called Hastings Court contains shops and restaurants.
Wickersley is home to Rotherham's only proper bookshop which moved from the centre of town early in 2007. If you are into expensive clothes and designer wear there are shops to part both men and women from their hard-earned cash.
You can still find a couple of traditional butchers here, Cusworths and the Village Butcher.
If its a meal you're after then you are spoiled for choice in Wickersley; I counted seven restaurants and at least one café.
Barring a big supermarket, though I think there's a Co-op, there is virtually everything you could want in Wickersley.
