Rotherham Shop Local
In 2010 there was a Shop Local campaign to encourage shoppers back Rotherham Town Centre. The feature of this scheme was a Loyalty Discount Card. In July 2010 more than 60 already accept this card. In support of this there was a major press and radio campaign, a shopping directory, newsletter and more.
Due to its overwhelming popularity, the Shop Local scheme has been extended throughout 2011. People can still sign up for a card at www.rotherhamtowncentre.co.uk or at Rotherham Visitor Centre and local libraries.
Look out for Shop Local window stickers in participating businesses and ask what they are entitled to as one of Rotherham's loyal shoppers. Alternatively check out the offers before making the trip on the Shop Local page by visiting the website.

Although it is wise to take such things with a very large pinch of salt, the Rotherham Shop Local scheme has won the best Public/Private Partnership Working award at the Association of Public Service Excellence awards.
