Rotherham Railway Station
Work on the Central Railway Station began on 22 February 2010 and it was expected that it would be completed in early 2011. They were still faffing about with it in April 2012 but I think that it is now finally done. At least I think it's completed but I haven't been to look.
Rotherham, despite the £8.5 investment in the new station, could well be reduced to the status of a rural halt, as it is amongst a list of stations which may loose their ticket offices. This has raised a howl of protest but it remains to be seen what will happen. There have been other complaints too: tickets booked online have to be fetched from Meadowhall as there is no provision for collection at Rotherham. DOH!
